Dragon's Skin is More than Shiny
April 28, 2010
Tales of dragons have been found dating at least six thousand years back from all over the earth except for Antartica. Dragon collectibles are a very popular gift for animal lovers, gamers, Gothic folks, and fantasy collectors alike. They are always showed as regal creatures and an ancient force to reckoned with. Nowadays, dragon figurines are divided into two groupings--the benevolent, friendly metallic dragons and the malicious, vindictive chromatic dragons (as seen in Western culture). Although this does not cover all of the dragons we can notice on the market, it does illustrate the most familiar statues.

When we are talking about metallic dragons, we are basically referring to five different kinds, each one distinctive in appearance and makeup: gold, silver, bronze, brass, and copper.
1. Gold dragon sculptures - are usually adornded with large twin horns that are very smooth and made by gold metal, are unbendable in their adherence to repel evil and often go on board on self-styled missions to support good. As it takes a shorter time to create smaller figures, they are often less costly than their larger counterparts, yet not at all less valuable. This can make small dragon figures relatively inexpensive and cherished gifts.
2. Silver dragon statues - Are enormously susceptible in nature so the figures are made in a same way; these winged beasts are committed to defending the innocent and helping the submissive break free.
3. Bronze Dragons - Have smooth, flat scales; webbed feet and a beaklike snout. Bronze dragons are intolerant of any needless chaos and have an instinctual sense of justice. They have massive extended wings, two long horns and a long, red forked tongue. Emanating the scent of alchemical sulfur and smoke, red dragons breathe a deadly fire and their palate is especially sympathetic to fresh blood.
4. Brass dragon statues - These figurines, usually adult in design, feature brass, burnished-like scales that reflect the sun's rays and are warm to the touch.
5. Copper Dragons - Are unredeemable jokers and have massive muscles and ligaments, which are ideal for climbing.
You can situate your fantasy miniatures or fantasy figurines into your curio display, starting from the back and moving forward. If you want your diorama to be everlasting, you can paste your miniatures in place, using rubber cement (not recommended). Dragon figurines are wonderful presents to give and receive that can endure a lifetime. Every statue is crafted in such a method that the dragon's actual inner self and personality come through its metallic skin, and all for an reasonably priced charge. So the next time you are seeking a gift that symbolizes the ideals of strength, wisdom and ancient lore, consider a dragon collectible as your next fantasy collectible.
